Architecture talent

Hire a software architect

Architects who still write code. System design, migration strategy, and the written decisions your team can build against — not a slide deck and an invoice.

Typically 2–4 weeks from first call to an engineer in your standup.

A software architect earns their fee in the decisions that are expensive to reverse: the service boundaries, the data model, the build-versus-buy call, the migration sequence. Those decisions need someone who has lived with the consequences of the last ones they made.

Our architects are practising senior engineers. They review your system, work with your team rather than over it, and leave behind written architecture decision records your developers can actually build against. Engage one full time, or fractionally for a day or two a week.

What teams hire our architects for

Architecture review

An independent read on a system that has stopped scaling — technically or organisationally — with a prioritised list of what to change and what to leave alone.

Monolith to services, or back

A migration sequence that keeps the product shipping throughout, including the honest advice that splitting the monolith is sometimes the wrong move.

Technical due diligence

Pre-investment or pre-acquisition assessment of a codebase, team, and infrastructure, written for both investors and engineers.

Fractional architect

A day or two a week of senior architectural oversight for teams that need the judgement but not a full-time hire.

Why teams hire offshore through Elevz

Senior only

Every engineer we place is senior and screened by our own senior engineers before you see a CV. No juniors billed at senior rates.

You interview, we handle the rest

You make the hiring call. We handle sourcing, contracts, local employment, payroll, and compliance — one contract, one invoice.

In your timezone

Engineers across Europe and LATAM, working your hours, in your standups and your tools. Fluent English, no agency middle layer.

Your code stays yours

Full IP transfer on payment. NDAs and DPAs signed as standard, GDPR compliant, EU data residency available on request.

Hire a software architect: common questions

What is the difference between a fractional and a full-time architect?

A fractional architect gives you a fixed slice of senior judgement each week — design reviews, decision records, unblocking the team — for a fraction of the cost. A full-time architect makes sense when architecture work is continuous, such as during a large migration or a multi-team platform build.

Will the architect actually write code?

Yes. Ours are practising engineers who prototype the risky parts and write reference implementations. Architecture that has never been compiled is a guess.

What do we get at the end of an architecture engagement?

Written architecture decision records, C4-level diagrams, and a prioritised roadmap your team can execute without us. Where it helps, a working reference implementation of the pattern we are recommending.

How long does it take to hire an offshore engineer?

A dedicated engineer typically lands in 2 to 4 weeks, depending on the stack and seniority. You get a shortlist to interview first — we do not place anyone you have not spoken to.

Who employs the engineer, and how does payment work?

We do. You sign one contract with Elevz and receive one invoice; we handle local employment, payroll, taxes, and compliance in the engineer's country. No entity setup on your side.

Who owns the code our offshore team writes?

You do. Full IP transfer on payment, with no hidden licenses and no lock-in on proprietary tooling. NDAs and DPAs are signed as standard on every engagement.

What timezone do your offshore engineers work in?

Our engineers are based across Europe and LATAM, which overlaps the European working day in full and gives US teams a long morning overlap. Engineers work your hours, attend your standups, and use your tools.

What if the engineer is not the right fit?

Tell us in the first weeks and we replace them at our cost. We would rather absorb a bad match than have you carry it.
